CCSA Employment Opportunities

Studies show that teaching children at early ages about the dangers of substance use and the risk of addiction is the most effective means of prevention. CCSA is proud of the impact we have made through our evidence-based prevention programming and is seeking individuals to join our team!

Job Title:  Program Manager

Location:  Hybrid of travel for on-site programming and working remotely; Occasional meetings at home office located in Teaneck, New Jersey

Terms:       Full-time position (some evenings and weekends may be required) with time off

Salary:       $60,000 - $75,000/annum depending on experience

About Us: Communities Confronting Substance Use & Addiction, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that provides evidence-based educational programming in Jewish middle and high schools focusing on substance use prevention. CCSA also conducts awareness events on topics of mental health and addiction, as well as manages a support group for family members impacted by addiction.

Primary Role: CCSA is seeking an individual with firsthand experience with addiction who is inspired by our mission and excited by the opportunity to educate our youth and community on the risks of substance use. This role will be instrumental in expanding our client base, increasing the number of schools with whom we work, and utilizing personal experience to enhance our programming.

 

Requirements:

  • Lived experience with addiction and knowledge of science and practice around substance use and substance use disorders

  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in mental health, social work/counseling, addiction, or related field

  • Experience working with adolescents, young adults and families, including group experience, a plus

  • College Degree required

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including public-speaking

  • Familiarity with Bais Yaakov, Yeshiva Ketana, Mesivta middle and high school yeshivas a plus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Market prevention programs to potential client schools and engage new clients, specifically in underdeveloped target markets and other communities

  • Liaise with current clients in scheduling programming and meeting stated requirements

  • Present educational programming to students (grades 6-12) and conduct other programming (including faculty, parents, community events) as needed

  • Supervise other educational presenters on site and as needed to prepare for programs

  • Travel to communities as needed to service schools, conduct programs and interface with constituencies located therein

  • Counsel school personnel on specific situations as they arise under the supervision of CCSA’s Associate Director

  • Facilitate the family support group (if candidate holds a clinical degree and has relevant experience)

  • Create and update interactive educational programming for middle and high schools

  • Identify, onboard and train new presenters

  • Handle administrative tasks including scheduling programs, coordinating schedules of presenters to ensure coverage, and planning travel arrangements for out of town programs

Job Title:  Educational Presenter

Location:  Travel required for on-site prevention programming

Terms:       Engaged as independent contractor (academic year) and paid per program

CCSA also conducts awareness events on topics of mental health and addiction, as well as manages a support group for family members impacted by addiction.

Primary Role: CCSA is seeking an individual with firsthand experience with addiction who is inspired by our mission and excited to join our team of amazing presenters and educate our youth and community on the risks of substance use.

 

Requirements:

  • Lived experience with addiction (family member or firsthand with at least 12 months of recovery)

  • Willingness to share personal story to middle and high school students

  • Ability to accurately convey the information and materials in an engaging and dynamic manner

  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to school representatives

  • Capacity to travel during school hours and conduct presentations to 6th– 12th grade students (primarily, but not exclusively in the NY/NJ metropolitan area)

  • Mental health background, experience working with youth, and/or public speaking experience a plus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in on-boarding process and presenter training

  • Learn the information and materials used to conduct presentations

  • Conduct evidence-based, interactive programs with middle and high school students

  • Interact appropriately with audience and field questions

  • Adhere to presenter guidelines as communicated
